Spring 2026 Prayer & Newsletter

Good News Clubs

With just a few months left in the school year, we are amazed to report that there are STILL new students registering for Good News Clubs! Just last week (March 17) a kindergartener joined the Highland GNC. After her first visit, we discovered that the son of one of our Club leaders is friends with this little girl’s brother, and has been praying for him to come to Club. There are still eight weeks to go, and God is obviously working in the family, so we will not be surprised if he shows up as well!

Praise the Lord that a couple from Hilltop Baptist Church in Angola stepped up to teach the Good News Club in Lake Shore Middle School. Their first Club met in January, and was attended by three students, a teacher, and a parent. Since then, new students have come every week, and they are averaging over a dozen each week. In all, 32 different teenagers have attended so far this year. As far as we know, this is the only middle school Good News Club in New York State.

Due to bad weather and the overall complications of getting into these facilities, we have had no “Hotel Clubs” this winter. However, our team is excitedly preparing for an Easter Party Club in the Hamburg transitional housing facility on April 2. They will use a CEF lesson titled “Because God Loves You,” which presents the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, and ends with an explanation of how this all happened because of God’s great love for these children. We know from experience that many of these kids have no knowledge of Christ at all, so we are praying that this will have a huge impact on their young hearts.

We may also have an opportunity to start ministering at a transitional hotel in Orchard Park as well. Please pray as we research this.

North Collins Families Needed

We are praying and working toward starting a Good News Club in the North Collins School District next school year. To help aid this process, we would like to present that school board with a list of families within the district that would support a GNC in their elementary school.

If you live in North Collins, or know someone in North Collins that would be willing to add their name to this list, would you please contact us? All we need is your name and the name(s) of your child(ren). We are not asking for any commitment, and you are under absolutely no obligation to send your child to the Good News Club (since it doesn’t even exist yet!)  Please email admin@cefbuffalo.org or call/text 716-394-7820 to add your name to our petition, or with any questions.

It finally clicked!
This is the third year that A. has come to Good News Club. The first two years she was in kindergarten and first grade, and was much more interested in the songs and snacks (that girl LOVES grapes!) than she was in the Bible lessons and gospel presentations. Now she is in second grade, and is starting to pay attention to the stories.
The lead teacher was teaching on the life of Jesus, and A. had been listening intently for a few weeks. At the end of the lesson, the teacher gave a chance for anyone to go to the back of the class and talk one-on-one with another teacher. A. went and asked several good questions that showed she was beginning to understand Who Jesus is, and why He came to earth. Unfortunately the class was out of time, but the teacher promised to talk to A. more at the next club. The teacher admits that she didn’t expect anything to come of it!
But the following week, A. came back with more questions. She said she had been thinking about Jesus all week 🙂 The teacher was able to finish sharing the gospel, and A. prayed to ask Jesus to be her Savior.

Child Evangelism Fellowship International

Do you know …?
The FIFA World Cup will be held in North America between June 11 and July 19 of this year. It is estimated that half of the world, or 4 billion people, will tune in to watch at least part of the competition. What an incredible opportunity to reach children with the Gospel in fun and meaningful ways.

The Kickoff! Soccer Party is a great outreach tool to use during the World Cup. For players and fans, the highs and lows of sports have a unique ability to reveal our heart’s joy, humility, anger, anxiety, and pride in our team. In the story of Xavier’s New Team, Xavier’s attitude toward his soccer teammates reveals his need for forgiveness and invites children to reflect on their own need to be forgiven. Through this lesson, children will be encouraged to become part of God’s team, to live for His glory, and share His love with others.

Contact your local CEF chapter for assistance in obtaining the curriculum (appx. $15) and free promotional resources to help you reach the young soccer fans in your life this summer.
